it’s like winning a raffle where I didn’t really know how great the prize would be: Democrats’ Victory in Texas Raises Potential for Environmental Reform
“Pretty much everyone who won the statewide level is a champ on the environment,” said Luke Metzger of Environment Texas

agree with this: Removing political speech from MLS fans is untenable – just ask Austin FC
The club told the Guardian it is engaging with supporters on the topic of rules around political messaging in stadiums. But those rules are unjustifiable and, in this climate, possibly even untenable.

…and those clean energy changes have to happen fast and happen everywhere. encouraging more residential solar: great. elected officials doing things like mandating solar, wind, & batteries instead of more gas plants (or coal ffs): way greater
…to be clear, in 2026 “environmental voting” means doing something to stop the runaway climate train, which primarily means switching from fossil fuels to clean energy as soon as humanly possible (i.e., “environmentalism” is no longer a nerdy/niche thing about saving a salamander or recycling more)
what a smart approach to increasing pro-environmental voting from www.environmentalvoter.org I also love how it’s an ongoing, long-term effort, beyond the boom & bust of individual elections

Republicans don’t mind data center expansion (& the horrifically polluting fossil-fuel power generation required), but they know how unpopular that expansion is. so they’re faking concern & slowing the headlong rush a little, but just until after the election. don’t fall for it
